40 Years Worth Of Thanks - two people meet again

I read this story on Boston.com, and it really touched me. It is about a white firefighter in Boston in 1968 who saved a black female infant in a horrific fire. When he found the infant she wasn't breathing and her face was covered in soot. He carried her out and performed mouth to mouth to rescue the baby which was apparently noteworthy during those times when race riots were erupting across the U.S.

I was touched at first that anyone would find his act unusual as his job is to rescue people from fires. Then I was further touched upon reading about their reunion 40 years later. The two had attempted to reunite several times but found the task of contacting one another extremely difficult.

I suppose there is hope for humanity after all. Read more HERE.
